I seem to have an unusual amount of time
trying to escape from the pan command after
I get where I am going. Has someone found a
fix to this bug?

Sounds like your running low on resources. Do you have other programs running? If so, try shutting them down one by one and check the results. You might try running the Windows Resource Meter (start/programs/ accessories/system tools) to give you a running display of how low your resources are running. Steve Smith

Might be a question of which command is attached to the Right Mouse Button. Would it not be allright if a RightMouseButton click terminated the Pan?
(unless I missed the point)

Menu->Options had some alternatives for this.

If you would like to save an enormous amount of time, get a scroll mouse - the wheel executes a Zoom (scroll up/down), Zoom Extents (double click scroll wheel), and, a Pan (hold down wheel).
This works on 2000
hope this helps

Kevin,
I have that a two button mouse with the wheel
that is giving my trouble especially when
I am in dynamic mode. I was thinking, which
can be dangerous, that maybe the setting
for sensitivity is not correct for the mouse
settings and it is sensing some slight
movement even when I think I am not moving
it and keep it locked into this mode.
