parameter tables question

Just getting into parameter tables today, and was wondering if there was a way to access the name of the current configuration outside of the table, i.e. attributes or expressions, since it seems no text fields are allowed in the table. The only youtube video's I've found are in a foreign language and the online training we subscribe to doesn't cover it, so I'm trying to figure this out by trial and error.
