hi,
I have a FEM Model consisting of Beam , Mass and Spring elements simulating various components of a very complicated assembly. We have the Actual Test results of the assembly . Now i need to vary some parameters like the masses and stiffnesses so that my FEM model results match the actual test model results.. But the no of paramaters to be varied is 11. Is there any provision in any software or any Tool which can be used to get the optimum values for the 11 parameters.

Any Suggestions would be most welcome

Thanks

Quick comment--it seems to me that mass should be a known variable. If you are varying mass to match your actual test, it seems to me that you are modifying the wrong variable to arrive at correlation. You should only modify values that are questionable as to their correctness (and I would expect mass should be one of the least-questionable inputs).

As far as I know, there are various softwares devoted to modal testing and correlation that can do this (LMS-LINK is the first that comes into my mind), but also a SOL 200 sensitivity analysis in NASTRAN could be useful. I agree with Bradh, mass should be the easiest thing to update in your model. Cheers.
