Part became READ ONLY while loaded

Was working in a small assembly and switching back and forth between a couple of parts making edits to each model. I usually save before changing to another part and one time could not save a part. It had become read only. I had already made changes to this part and saved it during this same session.

UG Support could not explain it, but did acknowledge the issue. At their suggestion, I opened another UG session and loaded the part. It loaded - not READ ONLY -- even though the first session still had the part open.

Any thoughts as this is not the first time.

Using NX1 on a W2k pc.

Your part will go read only if UG thinks it has changed since you opened it. Thus UG believes that your part is an older version. (Possible other user, 2 sessions, or data synch issue).

There was no other user nor additional sessions open at the time. GTAC could not determine exactly why it was happening.

We have moved to NX2 with the most current update and have not had a repeat.
