Hi,
We are having an issue with creating new configurations.
It seems that if I have a part open for a while, SolidWorks will crash when I try to create a new part configuration.
We have seen this with both 2010 and 2013.
We are currently running 2013.
We are running a separate server for licenses and PDMWorks.

Any ideas or, work-arounds?

Thanks in advance,

JW

Did you use SW11 & 12?
Does this happen on multiple computers?
What are the specs of the computers?

CBL,
We did not use SW11 & 12

Our workstations are as follows:

Workstation: HP Z210
OS: Windows 7 Enterprise, SP1
Processor: Intel i7-2600, 3.4 GHz (solid state)
Video Card: NVIDIA Quadro 600

Thanks.

Have you run the SW Rx tool to see what it reports?

Have you tried running a SW repair, or updating to the latest SP?

I see this as well with Solidworks / PDM Enterprise. Seems to happen randomly so very hard to debug...

Seen it in 2010 SP5 and 2013 SP1 as well.

Good to know we are not alone.
Very frustrating and stressful at times...

"It seems that if I have a part open for a while" does this mean that you left the computer for a while also? Did the screensaver turn on?
Many computers have powersaving activated on the network card by default. not caring to much what programs feels about loosing connection with the server.
check and disable this feature on the propertis of your NIC and see if it makes a diffeense.
