Dear All,

nice to have joined this forum.

I briefely explain my problem.
We supplied some forgings (for ASME pressure vessel) hard stamped in accordance to MSS SP25.

Unfortunately a couple of pieces were wrongly marked on the diameter part (very light mistake).

I sent an official marking authorization to provide instructions to the client to amend the marking (5 min work) but they are asking me about some reference to international standards that authorise the manufacturer to send a marking authorization to the buyer.

Actually I never faced a request like this and i would like to know if someone there have had the same problem and can give me an advice.

Thanks to all

I think you should ask precise instructions from your Client and do not accept some vague references, most likely ending costly to you.
Good luck,

@gr2vessels
Thanks for your prompt reply.

Actually I would like to find soemething on any standard to permit me to make them accept the authorisation and avoid to take a plane or taking back the parts for marking (it is just a wrong number!).

I will try also to get some info from them.

Thank you.
