Hi,
Scene #1:-
Do i need to stamp "PHT" underneath of stamped "PART" if performed PWHT on the fabricated Channel (PART) which will be shipped to
the client with partial data report. If yes...or... No...Code reference (Viii Div 1) please.

Scene # 2:-
Do i need to stamp "PHT" underneath of stamped "PART" if performed PWHT on the fabricated Nipple(PART) which will be shipped to
the Expansion bellow manufacturer with partial data report. The expansion bellow manufacturer will cut that nipple in the half and weld it to expansion bellows both end and then shipped back to us. Then we will attched it to the channel, perform hydro test, final "Part" stamp and Final partial data report. If yes...or... No...Code reference (Viii Div 1) please.

In above both cases....If code says "No", can i still stamp it?

Your input will be highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

BPVN,

UG-116(h)(1) of ASME Section VIII-1 only requires the Certification Mark and U Designator be stamped. It does not require "PHT", "RT" or even "W" be stamped below the Designator. There are numerous Code interpretations that support this opinion (VIII-81-01, 92-145, 95-47, 89-101R).

Typically any post weld heat treatment or radiography would be recorded on the U-2 or U-2A Partial Data Report.

Also, interpretation VIII-1-95-47 does not prohibit additional markings "W", "PHT", etc... as long as the minimum requirements of UG-116(h)are met.
