Part Window Disappearing (NX 2) 1

Hello, I'm fairly new to all of this so maybe I'm asking a simple question, but I did search for the answer before posting. Anyways...

I have a problem with the window docking in NX 2. It's as if the part window isn't attached to the main UG window (where the toolbars are)

I haven't been able to find an option to sit the part window inside the UG window. I can move it there but if there's no active command (meaning, I'm not in the process of creating a block, line, whatever) then the part window disappears.

Sometimes, even with a running command, like clicking on create a datum plane, my part window disappears behind the UG window so i am not able to select anything unless I set the two windows side by side...and keep switching back and forth between them.

It's a major inconvenience, but I can work around it...but why should I? There's a solution somewhere, I'm just not familiar enough with the program yet to find it.

Any help would be appreciated.

Be more specific, which platform are you running it on, PC or UNIX, could be OS related

But it sounds like you are running UNIX and have active window on top set

it's on UNIX

where would i uncheck this 'active window on top' option?

preferences > visualization ?

i'll go hunt around some more, thx

it turns out that it was a setting in the OS, and not unigraphics,

wasn't too hard to find after i opened my tunnel vision to include more than UG

i was bent on finding the answer in UG, it was never going to happen.
