Partially imbedded steel trench grate frame treatment. Rust inhibiting primer or nothing?

We are preparing to do a trench drain project. The frames are made of 2” steel angle with headed concrete anchors.

My question is should I do some type of rust inhibiting prep to the outside of the angle where it will be in contact with the concrete? If I primed the surface, with the exception of a bit of over spray the anchor would be left bare.

Any prep will need to be done in house by the regular maintenance department.

The grating will be relatively dry the majority of the time. One section is for light draining and drip drying. Another section is to provide separation between the dirty and clean sides of the plant should a machine over flow and flood the floor on the dirty side.

Thank you

Subject to any traffic... we usually do HDG... a relatively low cost coating system that generally works.
