I am reviewing a modular home that has several locations of floor failure. The floor is particle board. The owner claims that a leaking pipe flooded the under area and the moisture wicked up to the sub-floor. the sub-floor is separated from the under area by a 10 mil visqueen membrane. Does anyone have links to infomation on moisture damage to particle board? Does anyone have experience on this subject?

This is the link to the Plywood Association, who should be quite familiar with your problem.

Are you sure it is particle board, as opposed to oriented strand board?

Trussdoc, thanks for the reply. I will check out the APA website, thanks. Yes, the floor is particle board. Many modular homes use particle board as flooring.
