I am working on updating my company's templates to take advantage of tabular notes. In our legacy template, there is a line above the parts list that has attributes in it that are related to and contained in the assembly part file. I've customized the "stock" parts list in NX (generic_parts_list_english.prt) and everything works fine. To get the second row incorporated, I added a second header line to the parts list, but when I try to reference attributes in individual cells, I cannot get them to work.
My attribute in the assembly file is PART_NUMBER.
If I right click on the cell, click Edit Text and type in <W$=@PART_NUMBER>, as I type I get a warning in the corner that says "Invalid annotation specified in entry field.", and I cannot hit enter to accept my entry.
If I right click on the cell, click Edit Cell and type in <W$=@PART_NUMBER>, I can hit enter, and my entry is accepted. NX then automatically reformats what I typed to "<WID3*0@PART_NUMBER>" If I then drag the parts list from my tables palette into the drawing, the cell does not populate.
If I set up a template attribute called DB_DWG_TEMPLATE_DETAIL_NUMBER and then reference that in the cell through Edit Text, Relationships category and Insert Part Attribute so that I see "<WRef2*0@DB_DWG_TEMPLATE_PART_NUMBER>", then when I drag my parts list into the drawing, the cell shows [DETAIL_NUMBER] but does not update with the information from the part.
I feel like this should be possible but that I'm just missing something with the formatting or how my attributes are set up.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
