We work over a network and was wondering if we were to us PDMWorks or other FM software would it improve our SolidWorks preformance?

Thanks for any input.

cruiser51,
PDM does not improve SolidWorks performance. If you do not use PDM now, it would help you a great deal with not overwriting other peoples work, and other things also. You will spend a lot less time finding models.

Bradley is correct that PDMWorks has nothing to do directly with Solidworks performance. However, at my company we do see a performance gain, but it is indirect. When we added PDMWorks, because our vault is on the network and thus backed up, we have set PDMWorks to use the C: drive of our computers for our working files. (The working file is the location where PDMWorks places a file when it is checked out). So when I check out a Solidworks file, I check it out from the vault on the network and it is placed in my working file on the C: drive of my computer. Of course the performance of Solidworks on my C: drive versus the network is improved, and as soon as I check the file back in, it is saved in the network vault. Like all software usage, frequent backups are a very good thing. So with PDMWorks the way we use it, frequent check-ins are a very good thing.
