I have not tried that. We were told by VAR to update both SW & PDMW to 05 together.

We have installed SolidWorks 2005 SP 0.1 and PDM\Works 2005 SP 0.0. Everything is working fine for us. We reboot the PDM server once a month to keep things linked, just to be safe. We upgrade each 2004 model, drawing and assembly as we work on them and put them back into the PDM as 2005. Opening SolidWorks 2004 files have not been any trouble at all.

PDMWadmin , didn't you have any experience ?

Whoa, I thought my ears were burning! [dazed]

SWscience, such a setup will work fine. It is fully supported by SolidWorks, and we have been doing that for about a month without any issues. However, are you running stand-alone licenses of SolidWorks and PDMWorks? If you are, there is a bug in the licensing scheme that will prevent the stand-alone client of PDMW from grabbing a license if you upgrade it to 2005 while keeping SW at 2004. (The SW add-in will work fine, though.) If you are on network licenses, you should not have any issues and the PDMW upgrade should go smoothly.
