Hello everyone! Writing this post in search of a bit of help. I'm evaluating if a specific adhesive is useful for my application, but am getting stumped by the datasheet.
3m 9469PC is what I'm planning to use to adhere a length of acrylic-modified PVC to a (possibly electroplated?) thin steel sheet.
Peel adhesion, which is the value I'm looking for is given in units of N/10mm - which are stumping me, as far as... what they mean.
Web searches on the subject haven't produced much, besides a discussion in eng-tips linked here...
Any help? Basically, I'm trying to figure out how much of a pull-force an area of 40 in^2 covered with this stuff can take.
Is the datasheet basically saying that only the length along the peel line matters in determining peel strength - since the area will be attacked by the peel 'gradually'?

And as a side question - the .pdf also warns "Galvanised surfaces are potential problems and should be carefully evaluated" - with that, what is the most likely to succeed method of rust-protecting this piece of steel? (it can't be stainless, by the way b/c of desired magnetic interaction)
