I have a job coming up that requires 11,000 slots to be cut in 1 sheet the way it is programmed at the moment is in 4 separate programs as the programs are too large for my machine memory. I'm running an amada fo3015 4KW with 160-il controller. Is there a way for me to make a macro or subprogram to reduce program size?

If they are evenly spaced, I would use a g98. It makes a much smaller program.

M96 calls a sub program. It can be used to reduced program size as well. Just as an example, the master program has a M96 Pxxx that would call program Oxxx, at the end of that,M97 sends the control back to the master program. The master program shuttles the tables then calls a different program to run on the other table.

There are a lot of options for the 160 that
are way more difficult to do on a NT control.

I have never used a g98 or a macro could you give me an example of one for a rounded end slot 0.5" by1.5" slots to be cut 4" between centers in x and 2" between centers in y plz so I can make a test

We do this all the time with ours and it works our great. One problem you have is heat issues so what I did to reduce the sheet warping was to make several programs all with G98 lines. I made a program that would cut every 4th hole in the x and y. Take the same program and move it to cut the second hole in the x and move it to cut the 3rd. Now do the same thing in the y direction so you have 8 G98 lines and less heat issues. The picture is color coated so you can see how this will work. We had a 2 sheets with 15,000 holes each and it worked great.
