Two boring by 30 meters depth have been drilled in footprint of building. Predominate of soil is clayey soil from surface down to 30 m.
The building include of 20 floors, 6 meters excavation.
The choose of foundation type, Mat or Pile foundation, which one is better for this building.

samad1381 - what is your level of geotechnical engineering experience? Do you have a position on what YOU think the foundation should be? There are a lot of variables - the first of which is that the depth of exploration might not be sufficient for the structure - you didn't find "hard bottom" - you have given no indication if the "clayey soil" is stiff, firm (medium stiff) soft, hard etc. - or if the "clayey soil" is a certain consistency to a certain depth and another beyond.

Piles are certainly an option - so is a raft - yet so is a piled raft - and, depending on some issues is a floating foundation. I would really like to hear your thoughts first - give advantages and disadvantages of each given the soil conditions - then you can ask for others of this forum to give their thoughts/concerns/advice.

But please do some homework of your own first . . .
