Does anyone here allow a 25% increase over design load for a pile for dead live and wind combination? Bearing in mind the transient nature of the laoding will not lead to settlement.

I have had some geotechnical engineers give me a 20% to 30% increase to the pile capacity for wind loads in their reports. I usually do not use an increase unless I get the ok from the geotech.

Only if geotech allows it except in the old South Florida Building Code areas they still allow 25% increase.

1/3 increase. Only for shearwall pilecaps. Most Geotechs in South Florida approve.

Come on, with a 2:1 factor of safety, I think a 33% increase in a wind event is acceptable.

I think all kinds of things are reasonable but not allowed by codes.
