Hello everybody,

I'm currently on a proyect where there's a frame which coincide with a basement wall. We´re modeling the basement wall and providing pin supports, the thing is, should I dimension my piles for the reaction (shear force) obtained form that model? or should rely on the soil surrounding the basement and design for a lower shear force? I'm not sure about this since the basement is 234 ft long and 10 ft high, buried in a cohesionless soil. What are your thoughts?

Please see attachment.

I'll appreciate your help.

Regards
