Hello,
I have a question regarding testing of piles usign Osterberg cell (O-cell). Is there any manufacturer who sells equipment for this type of investigation because on web I can only find companies providing testing services. I understand forum policies on 'promotion and selling' being forbidden, but I just want to know if there is possibilty of purchasing this equipment.
I was not sure weather this question should be asked in testing or foundation topic...
Regards

I did a search under the name Soil Test Inc. since Jorj Osterberg probably sold his devices via them. Nothing came up, but I know their office near me is long closed. He lived in Chicago and I think was a Professor at Marquette. Here is a link for an outfit that apparently is the only place you can get the cell. Looks like they have many offices. I knew Osterberg and we used his services a few times.

I did some further looking and it appears you are stuck. Not available.

OG - he was a professor at Northwestern . . . I had the opportunity to meet in in Vancouver back in 1983 or so - had a nice chat with him and also spent some time with him a the ISSMFE San Francisco Conference. Classy guy.

Here is a funny story. About 1975 We had him advising us on a construction arbitration situation and I was on the stand maybe half a day. When I was done he commented to me "I could have kissed you for the way you testified on ....."" or words to that effect. As I remember he was the only person I knew back then that had a Volvo. Did you know he was a Cornellian for his pHD?

PEinc: On their website I could not find any info on sale of equipment, just scoop on their services. The link I show says they are exclusive owners of the rights and only do the testing with the cell. mariooo probably has been there also.

I have never seen anyone do the O-Cell test besides Loadtest. The data acquisition is complicated, as is understanding it. Very sophisticated. You may need Loadtest if you haven't done this before.
