Hi All,

Just one straight inquiry:
How to make assessment/survey for bundle of pipes for different fluid (i.e. heavy fuel, diesel, oily water and waste water) and schedule located in one trench?
We want to know the recommended practice to evaluate the healthiness of our pipes in the plant.
Do we have to take only the thickness of the pipes only or there are further processes to be involved?
Do you have a good ready reference with you to follow?

Regards

Are the pipes in an open trench with steel cover, or buried underground?
The pipe is still designed per B31.3 Code similar to he aboveground piping. The pipe inside the trench should be supported on the sleeper instead of sit on the ground.
If pipes buried underground, the double pipe may be considered for the fuel or diesel lines with a leakage detection system.

API 570 for plant piping. Thickness measurements are part of the process, but circuitizing and determining damage mechanisms and where damage may occur is a huge part.

Dear mk3223

All pipes are inside the trenche with but covered with concrete slabs with sleepers under all pipes.
But still want to know for any further test to examin the healthness of the pipes

Same as other plant piping system, these pipes in the trench should be fabricated, examined and tested per B31.3 requirements. The pipes should be painted for corrosion protection. the drainage should be provided under the trench so the pipe won't submerged under water.
