Good Evening,
I hope you're doing well. For my project, I am looking to connect two hydraulic cylinders (3-inch OD) with a 16-inch OD flange, as shown in the attachment. The clamps are intended only for lateral bracing of cylinders, as the face plate at the top of the cylinder is connected to a fixed structures. I am looking to determine the design criteria for the pipe clamps. Are there any codes or standards that define the potential failure modes in this scenario?
