Why do we use mostly clamped shoes for SS pipes? When we are going with CS welded shoe with SS pad at Axial stop locations. why cant we use same configuration every other location? Clamped shoes have many disadvantages like slippage , corrosion near clamp( can be eliminated by introducing foil in between), load limitation/ prone to tiltIng etc., still why are using Clamped shoes an option over welded shoes for ss pipes? Is it only because of SS welding cost at site is higher? Or any other reason like welding effects pipe material at weld zone?

stl Stl tend sto be a lot thinner and an axial weld can do strange things to pipe if it gets bent etc.

Cost and potential for galvanic corrosion if you'r using CS shoes welded to a Stl Stl pipe

I think clamped shoes on SS pipes it is because of expansions bigger than in CS.

Go thru the topics mentioned below (simply google these):

Carbon pick-up by SS / sensitization / weld decay

You ought to be satisfied.

The SS NIKEs are made from 316L and are fully welded

Kind of expensive though ....

This boots are made for walking? Or they are used to make that Fred Aster sound? Oh yes you are sugesting to use them as clamping supports...

I guess those are spring clips instead of laces.

Typically you don't want to weld disimilar metals. Just because you can doesn't mean you should.

CS clamp supports are cheaper than SS clamp supports.
