Hello,
I'm working on a solution for calculating acurate line fill for batch tracking.
My aproach is to look at the measured volume(GOV) of the bathes at flow meters and by knowing the pipeline segment volume(at base conditions) calculate the location of the head and tail of the batches in the segment.
For a pipline segment I know I have to compensate for the effect of temprature and pressure on steel(CTS, CPS) and on liquid(CTL, CPL).
Assuming that I will have flow meter, temperature and pressure measurment only at the beggining and at the end of the segment how should I do these volume corrections?
Should I look only at the current pressure and temperature of liquid from upstream and downstream stations or should I do an average? If it's an average what kind of average and from which location, and for what period of time?
Could you kindly advice in this matter?
Thanks,
George
