Hi All,

The following is a job description in a pipeline maintenance work requirement. ''Prepares excavation plans in co-ordination with C & I for COMPANY Preventive Maintenance Programmes developed from IPS results.''

Please can anybody help me with explanation for the following in the above job description

1. What is the meaning of C & 1

2. What is the meaning of IPS

Thanks all

It can also be "control and instrumentation" (some companies do "I&C" backwards for some reason.)

Which just means it's really best to go ask the company what it means.

Thanks All,

All responds is appreciated. All suggestions tends towards the same thing that I know. I wanted to know other people's view to be sure am not missing things up because at times different company uses different abbreviation.

Once again, Thanks

It would help to add a context for your abbreviations.

IPS could be 'iron pipe size' .... the old way of addressing say, a 10" pipe which is actually 10.75" OD or 10" IPS, or otherwise 10in. NB (nominal bore).
