Dear Sirs

In our pipeline to the harbour, we have already done 100% visual inspection and manual UT. At the moment, to establish a true base line, we want to do a more reliable and conservative NDT testing.

Based on our pipeline description below we want to know, what are pipeline NDT inspection methods others than intrusive pig inspection to perform the job and how long it takes to accomplish such a work?

Our pipe way is composed by 14 straight lines 5,5Km length. In some points we have expansion loops with elbows. There are lines painted with an inorganic zinc primer plus an amine Epoxy 150u total thickness, other lines are painted with an alkyd red lead 80u. 36" and 30" lines are thermal insulated with rock wool and aluminium weatherproofing, the insulation has 50mm thickness, and these lines are steam heat traced. 10" Butane line is thermal insulated with 50mm of polyurethane. The lines have welded supports that are lying over concrete sleepers.

The forum answer will be appreciated.

Luis Marques.

Take a look at GWUT. However, I would suggest reconsidering Intelligent Pigging (MFL)
