Which industry standard code or codes are most commonly referenced for conformance in the construction of natural gas pipelines? Specifically, wall thickness (at the butt-weld end) of components such as valves must be determined considering design pressure, materials (allowable stresses) and design criteria or formula. What specification provides this information?
