stupid question but not really sure of a placing drawing notation

there a notaion like for example 2x3x5 #5

I know that 5 # 5 bars and the 3 would be three time, does the 2 mean2 different places like maybe 2 different columns with the same bars and detail

Is there a book that help on placing drawing reading.

ICC special inspector, Structural masonry, Reinforced concrete.

Not knowing the context makes it difficult to be absolutely sure. It could mean (5)#5s at 2 location in one direction and 3 locations in an orthogonal direction.

As far as publications, you should check out:

Which is SP-66(04), ACI Detailing Manual-2004.

If you regularly have to utilize shop/placing rebar drawings as part of your daily tasks, then you should purchase a copy of the ACI Detailing Manual, whose link has been posted by RHTPE.

I'd ask for clarrification. Many shop drawing detailers do not necessarily follow ACI guidelines.

Can you upload a sketch or detail depicting the situation you have described?
