Could someone push me in the right direction? I have plastic vessels in a chemical plant some are storage tanks, filters and some are pressure vessels. Is ASME Section X the only place I need to be looking? Does API have something that is simular? What I'm needing is to figure out what the build codes are and what type of inspections are required? Thanks for your time.

Lithone,
I would first look at the nameplate, to identify the manufacturer and the design/construction code stamped on the plate. I would look for any bit of paper available for the 'plastic' vessels you mention. The ASME code you mentioned is for fibre glass reinforced plastic materials, not simply plastic containers of any description. You need to figure out how to ask the manufacturer of this equipment, the design code and associated documentation. Typically, the design/manufacture code will tell you the minimum mandatory test and inspection requirements.

Thanks for the information, lables are the issue or should I say the lack of them. The person I replaced was replace for a reason and I understand one of the reasons was record keeping. Since that API code is for Fiber Glass vessels is there anything for plastic. Again thank you for the help.
