Plastic inside transmission

I am looking for some assistance in determine what type of plastic are used inside of an automtive transmission? For example on solenoid connectors.

Sabic don't have nylon and this is very likely a nylon application.

In my experience while GE (now Sabic) has some very good materials there representatives where extremely partisan to the extent that much of what they said had to be questioned. I certainly had to where possible, clean up a lot of their messes over here. One recommendation was so bad that three boat anchors (failed moulds) was enough for a multinational to close down their manufacturing here and fire about 700 people. Another two where so bad that product launches where delayed for over 12 months while alternate materials where tried and moulds reworked to accommodate.

Phenolic have been used in many transmission applications for years.

Phenolics certainly have their place in these applications.

Nylons are tougher, but phenolics are better re stability and long term high temperature under load, but are brittle when that matters.
