Hej everybody
I am new to using non-linear material description in ansys, therefore, may be my question can seem lame, so, please, no stones throwing.
Anyway, I have the following situation:
I have plasticity in my model and after modelling and simulating, I have calculated eq. plastic strains. They are in quite large area through the thickness of my cylindrical axle, but eq. plastic strains smaller than 1%, in fact, they are even smaller that 0.5%
Can I somehow evaluate this plasticity in ansys?
To interpret how “strong” is this plasticity and how bad it is damaging the unit
maybe there is some kind of output which helps?
Or, maybe it possible to recalculate eq. plastic strains to plastic deformations, so one can say, for example: “we have total displacements in the area of interest 1.2 mm, and in them 0.1mm is plastic displacement”.
I checked manual and found formula for eq-plastic strains as
str_sl=str_total-S_eq/E
But I have no idea how to convert these plastic strains in plastic deformations. Can I have output of total strains in the area of interest?
any suggestions would be very appreciated
Thank you!
