Platform/Ladder Loads on Pressure Vessels

Hello,

Can anyone help me out to calculate in pressure vessel, at each point on external surface, what will be the max. forces and moments it can withstand.

Also can i equate above values over the external loads if any, without perfoming WRC-107 calculation.

For a global force/moment you can do this simple calculation,

Axial force / Cross-section area + bending moment / section modulus.

You also have consider the effect of these loads on the support.

If it is a concentrated load then use some thing like WRC-107 to evaluate it.

You must also consider the stress from internal/external pressure, thermal stress and the stress caused by the imposed load of the structure. It is hard to simplify it too much. I would say as a minimum, perform a WRC 107 analysis, but even better check it using FEA.
