Hello,

We are manufacturing a columnn with height 50 meters under EN 13445 and PED law.
Equipment will be installed in an italian refinery.
Our scope of supply includes also platforms and ladders, which shall be also manufactured by us.

Do we need to certify these constructions in accordance to a specific code or standard?

Thank you

It would depend where you split your scope between EN 13445/PED, vs EN 1090. The ladders and platforms could be scope of CPR 305/2011.
What does En 13445 say about this? And have you talked with your nobo where they would set the scope split?

Hello, i work in Romania and i design pressure vessels for the EU market. I never had to certify platforms and ladders for columns or pressure vessels ( both horizontal and vertical ) . These are seen as accessories for operating and maintaining the pressure vessel . I take into consideration the weight of it and the forces that are acting on the shell and/or head of the vessel and i never had issues with NoBo. Also i use ISO 14122 with all it's parts as a reference for designing the platforms and ladders .

Hope it helps you.

Best regards.
