When I opened the previosly saved plaxis file, it all became academic version, I ended up can't access the file . Is there anyway to access the previously saved file ? I am using the advanced 21 version, not any academic version, why it will become academic version suddenly?

Plaxis has pretty good user support.

Yes, email BENTLEY or find your local Plaxis rep. Easily found on linkedin.

Here's some suggestions from my colleague in Plaxis support.
In general PLAXIS supports backwards compatibility. So, a project created in an older version can be loaded in a newer version, e.g. PLAXIS CONNECT Edition V21.
In your case it might be that the project is corrupted or missing some files, which can happen when copy & paste or during the previous save of the project. The project is most likely missing some important information about the license used and it defaults to an Academic license.
I would recommend reaching out to our technical support teams. Then, one of our support engineers can help you in detail:
