Hi fellas,
I'm learning how to program PLCs, and have gone through manuals and texts, but:
Does anyone know where I can get hold of a simulator to really practice ladder/ST programming - preferably within a RSLogix / AB environment?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

There is a program called RSLogix 500 Emulator that will allow you to go 'online' and simulate logic. I have only used the RSLogix 500 emulator, which is used for the SLC 500 series and Microlgix (maybe more, but that is all i've had to use). If you are working w/ something different such as control logic, then you will have to find an emulator program for RSLogix 5000, which is probably out there. Chech the rockwell automation website. goodluck!

Hi Chris,
Thanks for that tip, even though I was actually looking for a free simulator to practice on.

Take care and thanks again

you can get for £30 a package from siemens with all different type of software, Step7, graph7, a plc simulator...it works with a licence which last for a month but you will be still able to use it later on by just acknoledging their pop up window...

Yea, The learning pit has a good simulator for the SLC500.
