as far as regular steel, watch your shower...if it is trailing, then you need more heat or you need to slow down. if the shower is ahead of the nozzle, then you need to speed up or cut your heat down.
when i say heat i am talking about the wattage or the percentage of wattage, so increase or decrease these as needed
example:
G82P1000Q500R80F100
THE "P" STANDS FOR POWER (WATTAGE)
THE "Q" STANDS FOR THE PULSE OF THE LASER PER SECOND
THE "R" STANDS FOR PERCENTAGE OF THE POWER
THE "F" OF COURSE IS YOUR FEEDRATE
