Dear Simulink experts,
I just started learning simulink. The project I am testing is very simple:
A DC motor attached to a linkage. The linkage is attached to a door slides open and close. I model the DC motor in sumulink. One of the inputs is inertia. Is it correct that the inertia is the inertia of the door + the linkage? If this is the case, how can I obtain the inertia of the door + linkage? Some CAD package gives moment of inertia of solid parts but, usually based on relative to its center of mass or a global coordinate. And in all 3 direction, ie, Ixx/Iyy/Izz. So, I am not sure about this. In addition, the door/linkage move during motion. Does the inertia change during motion?
I am using simulink and NX motion co-simulation. NX motion will model the door and the linkage.
It will be appreciated if someone here can give me some guidance.
