Hello,
I am trying to apply an uniformly force into a surface (bowtie structure), however the nodes deform as if the force will deform in the middle (where no support is given by bowtie structure). Well, it make sense if I apply a pressure (which is the only parameter I find to apply as a force in a surface).

I would like the force to be applied to the entire surface though as if a steel plate will push a bowtie structure or a structure with support only in the corners basically). The deformation will not occur only in the middle but throughout the bowtie.

I am thinking on defining the nodes in the surface to have the same y-displacement. Is this possible? Or what could be another possibility?

Thank you very much

Yes, use an enforced Y displacement on the surface nodes.

How do I do that? I am pretty new at abaqus, sorry.

Drigo, rather than ask basic questions here, you would be much better off by getting some training.

Taht will be nice...problem is how do I get trained (easy to say difficult to do). Is there any tutorial available, I thought this forum was for helping people.

Drigo - you need to use *BOUNDARY on the nodes. There is plenty of info on how to use it in the online docs that came with your ABAQUS install.
