Hi gentlemen ,

I needing for your support for two confuse things as follows :-

1 - when I need to determine capacity and head for viscous fluid using correction factors
Am I need multiply or divided by correction factors to determine the BEF ?
Some articles mention divided
Some books mention multiliy so I confuse
Which one is right ?

2 - How can plot characteristic curve for viscous fluid from water based characteristic ?

Is there good .PDF to reference

Warm regards
John

Thank you Jjpellin

Kindly help me for question no1 I confuse

I don't know how your correction factor was calculated. Either multiply or divide based on which one makes the head value smaller when the viscosity increases. If you can open the spreadsheet I attached above, it is all embedded in the formulas in there.

Regarding generate plot new performance curve
Can I use spread sheet to generate ?

Is this spreadsheet trustable?

I would trust anything JJ sent me....

I have used it many times with success. But you should open the formulas in the spreadsheet and verify that they match available literature. Trust but verify.

The spreadsheet uses the affinity laws to correct for impeller diameter and rotational speed changes as well as correct for viscosity. Yes, you can use it to generate a new curve. The larger the change in any of these parameters, the less accurate the result will be. I have found it to be good enough for my purposes.
