Hi all

I am trying to model a shell with variable thicknes by means of an analytical field.

First of all i dont know if I am doing it properly, (I created a variable analytical field and I assigned it to the thickness of a section)
When I try to plot the thickness of the shell I can see no thickness so...

is this possible?
how could I check that each element gets the proper thickness?

thanks a lot

Well, when running th ejob, ii can check with the query tool the thickness of the element, and I can see i have a thickness of one in every element.
(which is wrong in every way)

You can render the shell thickness in the assmebly module, go to View -> Assembly Disply Options -> General, there is a tick box for Render shell thickness.

Thanks bkal,
the problem is that when doing that no thickness apears for the elements with the analytical thickness

Ok, i got the answer, i have to get into the STH variable which is the thickness.
Once that I run the job I get the variable so I can check the thickness.

thanks all

Hi n3l3,
I'm facing the exact same problem.
What do you call STH variable please?
Could you post a screenshot of your parameters so I can get the inspiration please?
Thx
