Can anyone tell me where I could go to get a sample plot configuration file for an HP Deskjet 1220C?

Have you tried ...
C:\BENTLEY\WORKSPACE\SYSTEM\PLOTDRV\HP1200c.PLT

you might have to edit the path to your network printer but aside from that you should be ok!

Let me know.

Hi rkey

I have tried the hp1200.plt plot configuration file but it did not work. I did update the path for the network printer but all that prints out is a string of letters at the bottom or top of the paper.

Thanks

Rich

Try this ... copy the text below into notepad and save as
HP-DJ-1220c.plt

Modify where it says "\\nj0009\njhp5501ps" ... to YOUR path.
Let me know if that works.

; The style records defines how the design file line codes (styles)
; are to be plotted. Values are in plotter units (resolutions).
; Values determine pen down/up movements, where (14,42) for a dot
; pattern leaves the pen down for 14 units and up for 42 units. The
; /nohardware switch causes software stroking with these values.

style(1) = (14,42)/nohardware ; style = dot

style(3) = (168,56)/nohardware ; style = long dash
style(4) = (112,42,28,42)/nohardware ; style = dot-dash
style(5) = (56,56)/nohardware ; style = short dash
style(6) = (84,28,28,28,28,28)/nohardware ; style = dash-dot-dot
style(7) = (112,28,56,28)/nohardware ; style = long dash - short dash

; stroke_tolerance determines tolerance for arcs and circles. Value is

; creates a larger .000 file.
stroke_tolerance=4.5 ; unitless num 0 < tol <10

; linecap, linejoin and miter_limit values may differ between plotters.
; Check your plotter manual for their definition.

linejoin = 2 ; 1=mitered, 2=miter/bevel, 3=triangle,
; 4=round, 5=beveled, 6=no join
miter_limit = 1.5 ; larger values mean longer spikes

; Construction points, by default, are not plotted. Uncomment the next
; line if you want to plot them.
; point_size = .1 ; points are plotted 0.1 cm dia

; Units for weight stroke are multiples of .025 mm.
weight_strokes=(3,6,9,12,15,18,21,24,27,30,33,36,39,70,75,80,85,90,95,100,105,110,115,120,125,130,135,140,145,150,155,160)

; The record, hardware_raster, can be used to plot raster element
; types 87 and 88 and raster reference elements. Values for resolution can
; be as high as your plotters resolution. Lower value produce grainer images
; Specify color to plot colored raster images.
hardware_raster/resolution=300/background=color

Your deskjet is a "tabletop" model, right?

We're talking about "A" & "B" size printouts?
Color?

Another driver to try would be the ... "hp650c.plt" but this for "large" size plotters. ("E" size sheets)

Also have you tried the default "Printer.plt"?

The 1220c is a destop that will print 8.5x11, 11x17 and 12x18 in color. I'll check out the the plt. file for the 650c tomorrow. I'll try and get an answer from bentley, when I do I'll let u know. Thanks for your help rkey

I tried all the plot drivers specified here on-top and copied the driver supplied. Still printer prints string of letters. Any sollution to this or other plot driver?

Is it possible to send Pro-E plt files directly to a printer like Auto Cad files. I can double click on by Auto Cad Plt files and they will print but when I try to send the Pro-E files the same way all i get is page after page of numbers and letters. Can anyone help.

I use the same printer its very good with microstation..
Chech how much ram it has as you can expand it and have more ram for faster data plots...
Try using the printer.plt ( the windows printer) in V7 and V8 this worked for me and print direct thru windows.
But remember with windows the printable area is different for your sheet sizes.. so you may not get maps to true scale.. as nonprintable margins will come into it..
I found I had to make up new sheet cells the same size as the printable area.. that way i could always print to a desired scale .. I made those sheet cells 1000x real life so it would be my scale factor for meters to mm ...
I have used the window printer diriver and it worked pretty well..
I did have to add in the section on no hardware etc for dashed lines and dotted lines not to be too thick..
and some stuff on lineweight strockes similar to the hpgl2.plt
as it would print too thick without this modification...
If it doesn't work for you, let me know.

I never did have any luck on getting the HP1220 to print with microstation. Now the printer isn't working so I can't even try anything. I appreciate all the input.
