There was a thread on this from last year : Thread 569-177553.

I have the same problem as stated in this thread. Dont know whether the person who had the problem got it resolved.

It is like this. I have ANSYS WB 11. No matter where I import the solid model from, when I open the simulation window after a couple of seconds says "plug-in error: attach failed".

Even if I create the model in Design Explorer gives me the same error.

This started happening suddenly. There was no addition to or deletion from the softwares on my system, except for the regular microsoft windows updates.

I uninstalled and reinstalled ANSYS WB 3 times but to no avail. Once, I even tried on a different PC, but with the same result.

Would anyone know how to resolve this?

Hi,
most probably some .dll which allow the plugin to run have been unregistered (or not re-registered) by the O.S. update. In this case, the manual re-installation of the plugin (see Help for details, under "CAD connectio") may solve the problem. If not, I'd suggest you call your Support Center...

Hi cbrn,

Thanks for the information. How can you re-install plugins manually?

Thanks

Hi,
eh eh, I don't remember! It is explained in the Help, I recall it's more or less a matter of copying files in the appropriate directory, managing the appropriate PATH and Ambient Variables, and registering the appropriate dlls.
