Plumbing and drainage (why aren't vents shown on drawings)

I rarely see sanitary vents drawn on plumbing and drainage drawings. I also rarely see any notes regarding vents. Unless otherwise stated is the contractor responsible for providing this without any change order? Any reasons why mechanical engineers do not draw this very often?

If you aren't seeing them, then it's because they are missing. Sanitary vents should indeed be shown in the plumbing plans and isometrics.

I tend to agree with Dave, you should show what needs to be (is intended to be) done on the plumbing drawings (mech. drwgs.). But, on the other hand, why would anyone want to pre-vent anything that could happen by happenstance. I mean, you could be blamed if it was done wrong.

All the projects I have ever worked on included vents shown on drawings.

Thanks for the response, I guess its just the drawings I am receiving from the engineers don't have SAN vents developed. It's strange even @ 99% submissions don't show them. :l
