This is with relevance to impacts of a recycling plant.

Is the monitoring of TSP sufficient to gauge the impact that the plant may have on human health?
In Standard Methods of Air Sampling & Analysis, 1991 - when using a high volume sampler to sample TSP, is PM10 included?

Thank you.

I am not familiar with your regulations , but:
TSP means total suspended particles, and PM10 means particle matters less than(in size) ten micrometers (microns),Thus PM10 is a fraction of TSP.
The reason for importance of PM10 is :eek:nly particles less than 10 microns can pass through the "nose" (as a filteration mechanism in body) and reach to the lungs. From point of health,PM10 is important, because particles greater than 10 microns,is removed by nose.
(Excuse me ,English is not my mother tongue!)
