Hello everybody,

I have got a point cloud (from a digitiser) and want to import it into proe and fit a surface through it. Anyone knows how this can be done?

Thanks

orig, I think and additional software from Pro/E maybe required. If my memory is correct. Dealing with and manipulating point clouds require "reverse engineering software". You may want to contact your Pro/e sales rep.
I hope this helps.

thanks texas pete. but now I have divided the point cloud into sections so as to blend through them. their coords are recorded in txt files.I changed them into ibl files but the error "Line 1: Can not identify keyword." comes up.
what should the format of the ibl file be so that proe can read it and create the section from it?

Check to see if you have a license for Pro/SCAN_TOOLS (comes with WF2 FA,
don't remember 'bout WF). If you do, create in Independent Geometry
Feature. Menu: Geometry -> Sample Data from File, select High Density
to read in a points file (ibl or (?)pts) and play with it. The resulting
scan curves(?) will make a decent visual reference. "Real" curves (that
can be selected for geometry creation) can be created from them (Menu:
Geometry -> Curve -> From Sample Data). ... And that's about the extent
of my playtime knowledge. `;^)

P.S. There are example ibl's for points and curves in Help.
