I am using SW 2016. I am kind of new to this software.
I have a lift lug that I have been trying to apply a force.
I don't understand the bearing force at all. I see that I can
also use a nonuniform distributed load which I haven't tried yet.
What I want to know is can I apply a point load? Can I
somehow define a location in the interior of the lift lug eye
and apply a point load?

Thanks,

A point force is a singularity and won't give accurate results, the best option is to create a split line in your model at the load location so you have an area approximating where the actual load will be applied, then apply a constant force over that area by selecting the face and orienting the force in the vertical direction in the force dialog box.

Thanks for your answer. It helps to narrow down options.
I saw that "split" command but wasn't sure how to apply it.
I'll look into it more.
