Hi

Nowhere near my reference books. Anybody have Poissons and Modulus of Elasticity for Aluminium 2024 Bar diameter 35.5mm in the T6 condition close to hand.

Thanks

Per the Aluminum Association:
Typical Average Modulus of Elasticity: 10,600,000 psi
Note: the Compressive Modulus is typically about 2% greater than the Tension Modulus.
Note: the Aluminu Association draws a distinction between "Minimum" and "Typical" properties. Typicals tend to be about 15% higher than Minimums. Use Minimums for design. Then again, I think this just refers to strengths, not modulii. Oh well...

Per "Aluminum Structures" by Kissel and Ferry:
Poisson's ration: 0.33

I use modulus of elasticity for thermowell calculations. The modulus of elasticity varies with temperature. I will check to see if I have Aluminium 2024 on my spreadsheet but cannot get to it now.

I list A92024 but lack the data but have data for A96061.

Spec UNS Modulus of Elasticity Values (X10**6 psi) (Young's Modulus)
