Post for Vibration Mitigation

i have a post to place under a beam to mitigate vibration issues supporting sensitive equipment.

I understand from AISC DG11 that this column will need to be jacked into place

Does anyone have experience with doing this, either in modelling or construction? I'm trying to decide how much jacking force would be appropriate. Any resources would be helpful.

I have not done this before. But, I always thought the way to do it was to erect some shoring for the existing beam and jack up that shoring to jack up that shoring to take out the existing deflection and bring it to a more 'neutral' state. Then, construct the column, grout the base plate, etc before releasing the shoring.

Thanks Josh. I assumed that it's jacked up to some percentage of the tributary dead load.
