This question is specific to industrial facilities with lots of mechanical/process equipment. I have seen a divide in whether structural engineers feel post Installed anchorage for equipment needs to be shown and called out on drawings.
What opinions are there on this?
I have typically been taught to always show post Installed anchorage for equipment. This includes calling out the diameter, anchorage, embed, projection and location just the same as cast in place.
I understand that equipment anchors are installed after the equipment is in place, so locating is not necessary - but for me it is useful to coordinate rebar/foundation size. I also can't understand not showing it at all since otherwise how is it sized or bid by a contractor.
Thoughts?
