Hi

If we have 3x capacitor banls 300 KVAR in a LV switchgear, we got 3 power factor regulators. How do this Power factor regulators take the informations about currents- i need 1 CT on main bus bar/each regulator ?
Or (maybe)if i have on main incomer 1 converter 5A - 4-20 mA, can this be linked with all 3 electronic regulators ?
Other choices to give information about currents to regulators?
Regards

Usually one power factor regulator may connect up to 4-5 capacitor banks from a single electronic power factor regulator. If you have one power factor regulator for each capacitor bank you have to connect at all individually and to set the PF so in order to reach the required PF. That means if the PF is, let say, 0.6 you need to connect all the capacitors, if the PF will be 0.7 you'll need only 2 banks and for 0.8 just one .Using only one CT it is possible if you may connect the regulators in series in order to share the same secondary current to all three regulators [that depends upon maximum impedance permitted to achieve enough CT accuracy]
For an example of one electronic power factor regulator for 4 banks see:
