Power source for offshore remote platform 1

Dear all,

I launch to install new telecom. equipment situated on unmanned wellhead platform ( outdoor use/hazardous area zone 2) which load consumption requires continually 5kW at 220v,50Hz - 24 hrs in operation. Can anyone recommend a power generation source (such as diesel generator, solar sys, etc..) designed and manufactured for offshore facilities.

If your system on the platform is for monitoring,i.e. non motor loads, we have found the most reliable way is to have a small 1800rpm diesel genset in conjunction with a inverter/battery supply. Pure sine wave inverters give out "clean" power and the genset can be set up for auto start on low battery voltage or amp capacity. The genset charging system should be sized to the battery bank so the genset runs about 4 to 6 hours a day depending upon draw. Provided you are in a sunshine belt you can add solar panels to the charging system, but at your power demand, I would still have the genset for primary charging and the solar as an assist. This system can be assembled in self contained module measuring 4 x 6 x 6 for easy transport and options are available for cell phone and or satelite phone data transfer.
